CrackBerry Expert Review

BlackBerry Music Gateway Review
Reviewed by Adam Zeis
The new BlackBerry Music Gateway connects to your existing stereo or speaker system letting you wirelessly stream music from your BlackBerry smartphone or other Bluetooth enabled device. This newly updated version features a slimmer design, expanded connectivity and of course, NFC. A revamped version of the original BlackBerry Remote Stereo Gateway, the new model brings everything up to date by adding NFC and a microUSB charging port.

If you already have an external speaker (or anything with a 3.5mm connector to hook up to) then this is a great buy for the price. If you're on the fence and don't have anything to hook it up to, you may be better off springing for a full Bluetooth speaker.

Star Star Star Star Star Works as expected
User: Krzysztof Szatanik, Mar 1, 2014
Pros: auto reconnect, small size
Cons: Price?
I left it in my car connected to AUX IN, and it works perfectly - when i turn ignition it reconnects with my iphone setting output to Blackberry. Now i have my phone connected simultaneously to Blackberry Music Gateway and cars bluetooth phone portal which allow me to listen to music and receive phone calls without any cables hanging around. Ideal for all having car stereo with only AUX IN.
Star Star Star Star Star Very nice!

Pros: size, NFC, ease of use
Cons: range
Very much worth the price!
Star Star Star Star Star Works OK but a bit noisy in the car
User: Richard H, Sep 2, 2013
Pros: No longer need to plug/unplug from phone
Cons: Engine noise bleeds over
The gateway seems to work well and I was excited about the convenience factor of being able to leave it hooked up and not have my phone connected to the car via the audio cable..BUT..theres an annoying whine associated with the engine noise, much like a bad custom stereo install does when its not grounded well. This is on a factory stereo that makes zero noise when my phone is connected physically via the audio cable into the AUX jack. The gateway connected through the AUX jack has engine noise whine, loud enough to be annoying.
