The Plus......This case is simply classy looking. It really makes it look like a totally different phone. In fact when my wife saw it for the first time, she thought I bought a new phone again....lol Now this is with a Black 8530, I have no idea if it will look as good on a Purple, Violet, White, or Red one. This is really the perfect case for me personally, because the look and feel is more important than the protection.

Now on to the downside.....As others have stated it is rather slick, so I guess that is the trade off for looking so great. I doubt it will protect much beyond the battery cover and sides (sides, which if you dont know, are already rubberized, lol)

I cant comment on the screen protector provided since I have had a Zagg screen protector on from day one.

Bottom line is simple, if you dont care about true protection and want your phone to just look freakin awesome, buy it now. But if you are going to need some serious protection look at a Seidio or OtterBox case to fill your needs.

Pros: Good coverage, looks great, no bulk added
Cons: Slippery in the hand

This case looks fantastic - the pictures dont lie. It provides good coverage for your device without adding any real bulk so you can continue to use a regular holster if you want.

I ordered this online and while the shipping costs were higher than expected, it shipped very quickly and in excellent order.

The biggest drawback to the case is simply that it might lead to the accidents youre trying to protect your Blackberry against. Unlike the colored cases, the silver case (gun metal color really) is very slippery in the hand.

The other big disadvantage is that the screen protector is really hard to apply. The paper tabs that are supposed to help remove it from the outer layer before installation dont really help and tend to leave a sticky residue on the outside of the protective surface. Its very hard to remove all of the air bubbles on my 8530 because the send / end keys are one peice of plastic and I dont think you can apply the pressure needed to safely remove the air bubbles, but this is pretty common for screen protectors.

Overall, a very good protective case and a good choice for someone who doesnt want to add bulk to their Blackberry.

Needs Improvement.

Pros: It was really shiny when I got it!
Cons: Its not so shiny anymore.

This case was really nice when I got it, and set off the appearance of my phone very nicely.

As other people have commented, it is very, very slippery. The first day I had it on I dropped my phone on the concrete, and it spun on its back at least 10 times before I was able to reach for it. This left some minor abrasions.

Now, a couple of months later, it is covered with chips and scratches from everyday use. The underlying color is black, so the scratches and chips look awful.

*However*....I came up with a fairly good solution, although it adds a bit of bulk. I bought a clear silicone case, and it fits over this one perfectly. Therefore, I will buy another one of these, but if it werent for the protective silicone covering, I would not.

Pros: Good intial look
Cons: Strips after 1 month

A good concept to get a little chrome on your Curve. Doesnt cover the top or bottom of the face of the phone where chrome should stand out most. This could have been done with some simple elasticity. Worse overall is that the chrome strips after one month, leaving your brand new BB looking old. Save your money until improvements are introduced and proven.
