The Case-Mate Smooth Case for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 & 9780 is a plain and simple, get the job done kind of case. It features a 2-part snap-on design that gives you some extra beef and protection on your device. Just slide the device in, snap on the bottom and you're ready to roll. There are openings for all the ports and it adds some good feel to the device making it easy to hold on to. It will protect from some bumps and bruises, but the front of the device is still left open to the elements.

Pros: Protection w/cradling option
Cons: more colors?

This thing is right on - I actually am using my old 9000 holster with the Smooth on my 9700 and its a perfect fit (actually theres a little wiggle room, but the magnet works as it should to secure the device). The ability to pop off the bottom piece in order to cradle is a great feature - however, CaseMate may want to sell spare bottom pieces as an option - I can see these pieces getting lost over time...maybe for $12.99 you can get a three pack...
