Product Description

Jawbone PRIME uses an algorithm that digitally fuses together the best audio from its two electret microphones (the clean preserved high-end frequencies of speech) and its patented Voice Activity Sensor (the low-end frequencies of speech) to create a single, natural sounding speech signal.

Acoustic Voice Activity Detector (AVAD) provides a fail-safe mechanism when the Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) doesn't touch your face. When the VAS is not touching the face, Jawbone PRIME performs as good as or better than any other noise cancelling headset. When the VAS touches the face, you get the turbo-boost to the NoiseAssassin performance.

Jawbone PRIME also has a subtle wind feedback mechanism built into the headset that gently alerts you when voice clarity is compromised due to wind gusts so the user can self-correct. While Jawbone PRIME does not completely remove the impact of wind, it does more than any other headset to remove wind and alert the user to the fact that wind may be affecting the conversation. This is the beginning of Jawbone's journey toward silencing wind.

Functionally, the design has also been enhanced by a slight indication in the shield's texture, a small tactile crease that indicates where the switch is located. The inside contours of the product follow your face in a perfectly comfortable manner, while new ergonomic earbuds have been refined to keep the Jawbone in place without an earloop for most wearers.

CrackBerry Expert Review

Aliph Jawbone PRIME Bluetooth Headset
Reviewed by James Falconer
For years now I've been a big fan of the Aliph 'Jawbone' series Bluetooth headset. Not only for its stunning design, but for the quality product and sound clarity. Naturally, when Kevin asked me if I would like to do a review of the brand-new Jawbone PRIME, I was all over it like nobody's business. In my review I'll step you through the product and provide you with a few good pictures of the new device... and by the end you may even be convinced to pick one up (you won't regret it - this is my favorite headset to date).

You really can't go wrong with the Jawbone PRIME. Ever since the original Jawbone from Aliph, I've been recommending them to friends, family and colleagues. The Jawbone 2 was another great jump forward, setting the bar for Bluetooth headsets, and now, the Jawbone PRIME has done the same. To borrow a line from countless movie reviews: 'Two thumbs up... way up!'

StarStarStarStarStar great headset
User: Glenn Smith, Apr 17, 2010

Pros:  size and weight
Cons:  none

My wife gave me a prime for Christmas and I love it! Much smaller than my origional Jawbone, but retains the functionality. One thing that made this headset GREAT was a custom earpiece I had made from Avery Sound on the west coast. You buy a kit, mold two types of ear putty together to make an earmold, and a week or so later Avery sends you a custom earmold that fits the Jawbone perfectly! No more earloops or other annoying methods of holding the headset in place. you may be able to see your local hearing aid place for an ear mold as well. This allows me to comfortably wear the headset all day, and better yet, acts as a passive noise reduction allowing me to reduce the volume needed on my headset, reducing damage from loud sounds on my hearing.
StarStarStarStarStar best bluetooth I have owned
User: brad sha, Jan 1, 2010

Pros:  easy to reach customer service,
Cons:  slow replacement under warranty if needed, harder to find replacement parts.

i would not buy another brand now. this works great. i have however purchased a selection of ear buds and ear loops, ear loops seem to brake easy, but i went 2 weeks without using a ear loop while i waited for my purchase to arrive from the manufacture.
StarStarStarStarStar The best bluetooth to date PERIOD!
User: BRANDON JOHNSON-JEWELL, Dec 22, 2009

Pros:  ALL PROS
Cons:  NONE

Ive had 3 Motorola bluetooths in 1 year and the boom went out on all of them, none lasted more than 4 months. Ive had the Prime going on 8 months now and not had a single complaint. I love it, Im new to Jawbone wasnt sure it was worth the $$$$$ but now I am glad I bought it.
StarStarStarStarStar The Best
User: Smoke Eckhardt, Nov 5, 2009

Pros:  Everything about it
Cons:  Could be cheaper but still worth every penny!

Ive used several different bluetooth and this is by far the best. People would complain about background noise with all the others, they never know where Im at or what Im doing with this one. And they are universal, so if it dont fit quite right, use the ear loop, its easy to get used to being there and not one bluetooth on the market fits everyone perfectly. But with the jawbone you can gain a semi custom fit.
StarStarStarStarStar Really the best. *****
User: 3G. Boldberry, Nov 4, 2009

Pros:  no more ear loop, longer battery and design
Cons:  no portable batter charger, guess making one should slove this problem.

This head piece pairs 2 phones even thou the box dont say it does, i heard the Plantronics Discovery 975 paired 2 phones this is not true it dont I had the plantronics before i picked up the jawbone. looking from a head piece that really works and blocks out background noise, theres no head piece as of right now that is this dedicated in blocking out noise, after my jawbone one died right after the year i had a hassle on buying another one, i have tried others before buying jawbone 2 but to be honest after complaints about background noise its worth every penny vs other headsets in the same price range. if you got 2 phones like i do then this is the head piece your looking for, if you work or live in a very noisy environment you will really like this, something that really works not from some add or rumors its from real people who uses it everyday, ooh and dont mind it falling out your ears without the ear piece just like the Plantronics Discovery 975 it sticks to your year and dont notice its in there and my ears are small too it fits fine.
