The purgear hard shell and holster combo allows you to retain the size of the Bold 9900/9930 and adding a optional holster. Easy to snap on the device and out the door you go. The soft touch polycarbonate shell allows for the device to be placed in the pocket without picking up debris.

Pros: easy to pull out, good feel, feels like the old holsters
Cons: sometimes doesnt go in smoothly, need to reseat, may not work with dock

Overall, I love it. Bought it because I was used to the old 6710 holster and moved to the came-with-the-thing leather cases. The case has some heft but still keeps it decently small. All the buttons and holes are exposed, which is exactly what I want.

Occasionally Ill have problems putting it back into the holster - it seems to catch on something, though no idea what. Pull out then put back in, works fine again. Magnets in there so it locks when you put it in. Aside from the occasional cant-put-it-in-the-holster, the only other potential problem is that part of the bottom back is covered, so I dont know if the charging dock will work with it. The charging prongs are exposed, but the back bottom of the case is covered, so I wouldnt bet on it.

All that being said - if you like the old-school "exposed" holsters, youll love this one.

Cons: Sometimes hard and cumbersome to slide the phone back in the holster, doesnt provide a lot of protection if dropped

I like the look of this case, but it is kind of hard to slide the phone with the case on the back back into the holster that is on your hip. Otherwise, it is a nice case. Doesnt provide a lot of protection if the phone is dropped either.
