Great battery upgrade

Pros: Much longer battery life
Cons: Fit is a little loose

I bought this battery as a replacement for the OEM one, which died a little over a year after getting my Curve 8530. It swelled up and would get really hot when charging or using the phone, and wouldnt hold a charge for more than a few hours on standby, or a few minutes with use.

The Seidio battery has worked great in just the few days Ive had it so far, holding a charge for more than 2 days with relatively heavy usage. Its definitely a major improvement. And, the new back cover that came with it is actually better than the original..it gives the rubber texture across the whole back of the phone now, and the fit/feel seems improved too.

The only knock I have on it is one I also read here..that the battery fits loosely and the phone will re-set if bumped or tapped. I remedied that by wedging a small strip of card stock between the top of the battery and the phone to snug the battery to the connector points on the phone. I believe it may be because the contacts on the battery are more recessed than the ones on the OEM battery, so any minor/moderate jostling causes electrical contact to be lost.

But thats a pretty minor issue compared to the overall product and how much better it works for the phone. Its been the best phone upgrade Ive ever purchased.

After a year it loses its power. It has some type of memory point. This makes your phone reset over and over again. Overall its a must upgrade for heavy BB users.

Pros: -
Cons: slightly "bulky"

Even though this makes your phone slightly "bulky" ( I mean what can you really expect from such a large battery . . .) its a great upgrade for someone who is a HEAVY phone user. Our phones have the Full-Time GPS enabled so it really drains a standard battery in about 4 hours. This battery lasts a full 10 hr day with power to spare.

Went from 1 day to 5 days before a charge was needed. As well, this was done from the very first charge. It states battery will be at its best after 5 to 6 full charges, this should mean even longer usage before a charge needed. A must buy.
