CrackBerry Expert Review

Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Reviewed by Ryan Blundell
I've now been a long time user of Jabra's BT3030, as its own review shows me walking in style. I'm always on the look out for the newest accessory. Sony Ericsson's HBH-DS970 Stereo Bluetooth headset looks to be a solid contender. It's sleek look and features have caught my eye.

If I could switch the headsets occasionally, or clip the headset for added security and comfort, the Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 Stereo Bluetooth Headset would be satisfactory. Call quality is fantastic and, although I prefer bass, the music comes through clearly.

StarStarStarStarStar Definitely not worth the price

Pros:  As a phone headset it works reasonably well
Cons:  As a music headset the quality is very poor

One word. Bass. There is NONE. Functionally, the headset works fine. Connected very easily and the profiles work just fine. The answer button works perfectly. I did have some issues at first with bad static, but that only happened one time. For music, the sound quality is terrible. There is absolutely no bass at all. And, unfortunately, on the BB Curve, the next/previous buttons do not work. Its very comfortable to wear, but I wish the dongle had a clip on the back to keep it from bouncing when I was walking. Its a good idea, but poorly implemented. I found it for a LOT less somewhere else and it was still not really worth the price. Look elsewhere.
StarStarStarStarStar Bass Whrere is it?

Pros:  Nice Features for answering phone calls
Cons:  Horrible for music

I had read many reviews for this item all over the net and found very few negative comments, and only one that said there was a problem with the bass. Well there is no bass from these even when paired with my computer (which took major work to accomplish) and the bass turned all the way up there still was NO bass. If there was a way to rate this win no starts that is what i would have done. If Sony can get the base response back into these it would be great product as the the other feature like showing the calling number and ease of answering a call were fantastic. In the state of the current product these are not even worth $10.00. I can buy wired head phones for $1.00 (yes one dollar) that sound better than these.
