Quick Review: Trident Aegis series case for the BlackBerry Torch 9810 and 9800

I'm always caught between wanting the feel of a case-free BlackBerry and wanting to protect it from drops and dings. I was more than satisfied with the amount or protection the Aegis gave me, as well as the feel of the case. With both a silicone lining and a polycarbonate plastic shell/spine with a soft finish, I simply didn't want to put the Torch down. Not only did it offer Mute button to Mic protection, but a fantastic grip as well.

By the beard of Zeus, the Trident Aegis case indeed does offer fantastic protection and style for everyday use. The feel of the case gives you yet another reason to add to the million others as to why you should never put your BlackBerry down. I've been very impressed with the Aegis case for the Torch 9810 and 9800 that I need to go and see what I can get for my Bold 9900.

THIS REQUIRED MUCH TRIMMING AND MODIFICATION TO FIT PROPERLY AND NOT ALTERING FUNCTION OF THE SIDE BUTTONS OF MY TORCH PHONE..FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK..POOR DESIGN

This case looks good, but I have found that it tends to attract dust and lint. The piece for the sliding screen came off the first day I had it. Im not impressed with how it holds onto the phone. It may protect the phone but I can say with 100 certainty that it was designed more for looks than actual functionality. The port covers tend to open up anytime I touch them due to the oversized nubs on them. All in all its better than nothing, but a lot more thought could have been put into it. The real problem is that no company yet has come up with a good quality case for slider smart phones and until then, those of us who own them will have to just make due.

this case prevents phone from working correctly. once i added case to phone could not use any of the functions. had to reboot to get phone to work. then from then on have to remove or pull back the top part of case in order for phone to work. poor design but offers great protection.

I got this TODAY and was excited to use it. Put it on the phone and everything froze up. I was unable to use the call, menu, back and power buttons and the trackball froze. I was unable to do a hard reboot on the keypad. The touch-screen functioned, and thats about it. I had to remove the battery numerous times to get the phone to power back up. After calling my service provider (thinking there was a problem with the phone), I did a full backup, software update and restore. Phone worked fine until I put the case back on the phone froze up immediately!!

Needless to say, Ill be returning the product tomorrow. Just like the previous rater, the case itself looks nice, but lacks functionality.
